About paying it forward

For me
In a little less than 4 weeks, I will be running a 5k. I know what you’re thinking, 5k, pff, not a big deal. Welp, for me, it kind of is. Back in August, I was hit by a drunk driver on my motorcycle and on February 15th, I fractured my ankle. So this is pretty satisfying to think that I’ll be running my first ever official race despite these major setbacks.

For the YWCA Montreal

Apart from the massive satisfaction of no longer being an injury zombie, this race is also about raising funds. Why you say? Is it to cure cancer? To get a drug addict into treatment? To get women out of an abusive situation? To stop the deportation of a family?

No, that’s not exactly what the YWCA is about. We are not a first line of defence. When people, when women get out of a difficult situation, when the drug addict gets clean, when the family is finally accepted to Canada, when that 18 year old is kicked out of Child protection, when people are ready to come back to society, that’s where we act. Once the government and the general public forgets about these people, that’s when we pull up our sleeves and get to work. We help women and girls integrate back into society and start their new lives with support and a community to lean on.

Prevention. Leadership. Safe Housing. Literacy. Employability. That is our expertise, that’s our mission. To find out more, check out our website: www.ydesfemmesmtl.org

So what’s the deal?

If you help me get to my goal of raising 1000$ pour the YWCA Montreal, your generous act will not stop there.

For every donation, I will do a Good Deed for another person, be it a card, a favor, a happy thought, a cookie, anything! I will do a good deed in your name. You’ll be able to suggest deeds or suggest people for whom you would like to see your good deed go to or you can just let me choose. I will do my best to chronicle every Good Deed and I’ll post them here!

The magnitude of the Good Deed will depend on the magnitude of your gift! The bigger the donation, the greater the Deed! So please, give for a good cause and make that gift pay forward!

Thanks,

Anne / Sparta
